I'm the Emergency Response Coordinator for a HAZMAT company, and a couple of years ago, we got called out for a tanker accident. They kept saying it was Jet Fuel. When we arrived, and I took a look at the manifest that the driver had, it was a tanker of AVGAS lol. The guy had rolled it down a rip-rap embankment and layed it over in someones front yard! Comnpletely destroyed the valves on the bottom of the truck. We had to hot tap the damaged tanker, which consisted of using a pneumatic drill and a 4" hole saw to put holes big enough in the side of the tanker side facing up to get a hose in and recover the fuel. Jet fuel is no biggie...basically really refined kerosene...but AVGAS is a whole different game lol. If only I'd had some drums with me in my trailer! I'd have kept a couple of hundred gallons for sampling
