Need Some Car Buying Advice
Like the title says I need some new car buying advice. I will most likely be purchasing my first brand new vehicle tomorrow and I am wanting to know if there is anything I should look out for or be aware of. It is going to be a 2011 Ford F150 crew cab with a 3.5. I am hoping you all can tell me some of the salesmen tricks or scams.
Thanks
Justin

Who are you finiancing it through. If you don't do the ford credit you should be able to haggle them down some, atleast I have been able to in the past. Tell them you are also looking at the chevy side as well. Most of the time they will start jumping for you if they know you are looking at another brand.

best deal --- on the x plan , no hagglin just ask to have the invoice with the plans on the bottom of the page , finance through FMC to get the extra rebate , then switch it over to your bank or credit union for the best rate, if your gonna trade a vehicle in start that appraisel first some dealers will give you less of a trade if they know your on the x plan

or don't buy new and save a bunch of money and then pay with the 100% down plan. EVERYONE can do that not just people with a lot of money.
One of the biggest lie's in America is the phrase, "I can afford the payments". If you can afford it then you don't have to buy it with payments.

but IF you have truck fever and have to go buy one. When you walk in the door ask for the manager and deal with him. Don't fall for the "good guy, bad guy" scheme that most delearships play. Don't ever mention payments and do NOT be afraid to walk away if they don't tell you the price that you want. Actually if you walk away then come back in a day or two that might be better. Act like you will pay cash and ask for the cash price.

Re: Need Some Car Buying Advice
I guess it's bad if my truck has a turbo and my drag car doesn't. I bit the bullet today and bought me a new 2011 F150 with the 3.5.
I am glad I am good with numbers because they do try to pull some fast ones numerically. Like this is your "Total" savings, which is totally b/s. The total savings was the trade-in value/incentives/ and dealership discounts. Sure it looks like a great deal with a huge dollar amount but what they don't tell you is half of it was incentives from Ford. After getting a little fired up and telling them to break down the numbers and I don't have to get a truck, the back and forth began. Thank God my wife was there to remind me to stay calm.
After 6 and a half hours I got what I want for what I wanted to pay.
