Nice Coupe !
Question on the exhaust, I can see you have " Blue thunder aluminium heads (chev exhaust) "
So the heads actually have chev exhaust pattern ? and are the Try-Y headers off the shelf or custom ?
I have a set of pacemakers and wanted to know (cast heads) and wanted to know of other options.
thanks
Rob

Hi Rob,
I used the Pacemaker headers and replaced the flange with one cut for the BT exhaust ports. They just took a little massaging to change the shape. Here's a pic of the standard exhaust gasket behind one for the Chev ports.

Had it on the chassis dyno to see where we're at with tune.

Nice, thanks for the info.
I may look to do a motor re-fresh with new pistons and cam kit (have TRW hi-comp) and unknown cam. So forced to run E85 due to compression and not even sure when the motor was put back together was the cam dialed in correctly because we did not have the cam card or details. and looks like the C6 is also leaving dark residue in the pan again after it was cleaned out (less than 100km).
Any advice of components list , for a rebuild and gearbox supplier ? or do you do rebuilds etc ?
thanks
Rob

What state do you live in?
Gregaust is an Aussie on here who helped me with heaps of advice on my last C6 rebuild.
I get hands on help and advice on the engine from a coupe of mates and some of the great guys on the forum.

Hi,
I am in Sydney....
The C6 was rebuilt with Manual valve body and a high stall (from memory around 2000RPM)..
Yes can see a lot of info on here, almost part of the problem just so much to consider and what to do...
Also cooling, have twin fans currently mounted on front of the 4 Core Rad, but because the fans back then very deep and had no room between the water pump and rad. Now with all the new low profile fans I am looking at making a shroud and mounting twin fans on the engine bay side... I did see your quick video start up and could see you have some factory type twin electric shroud setup, but also looks like you have alot more distance between waterpump and rad. My XE I think was about 4inch gap..... very tight.... also changed hoses, flushed, checked thermostat is working etc...
thanks

Ha... I said the same thing on the other site about those big burnouts. Good stuff! I think that there is more left in that ET.

Thanks. They look like they are working real good. I think those should work well on my car too. The 275's are going to be a tight fit on my Fairmont.

Thankyou Photobucket for fixing your stuff up big time last year. Happy to have just paid $20 to have all pics in posts re-instated. Hope it lasts!
