valve stem seals
What is the best method of installing press on teflon valve stem seals that have the clamps around them that go over the valve stem boss?

First, use the little plastic condom, that comes with the seals, over the tip of the valve(s). It keeps the keeper groves from scaring the I.D. of the seal. Second, I use either a seal installation tool OR, a 7/16 deep socket to push the seal down over the guide. Be sure to push it all the way down. Remove condom...done. BTW, did I mention...before installation, the top of the guides must be cut to match the depth and I.D. of the bottom of the seals. Also, I suggest you check retainer to seal clearance BEFORE installing the seals. That dimension can be adjusted with the PC seal cutter that was used to cut the guides for the seals. NOTE: pulling the seals back over the keeper groves will usually ruin the seals. Double check ALL dimensions first. Seal installation is the last thing to do before putting the springs on.
