C- HEADS ISSUES -THANKS LEM
JUST WANTED TO THANK LEM FOR HIS QUICK AND RESPONSIVE CALL TO ME 7-30 FRIDAY NIGHT-you didnt have to and im greatful you did -well to make a long story short
I appreciate everyones help to this point. I would like to provide as much information as possible so i do not have to relive this situation if at all possible.
I realized after putting approx a few hundred miles on my car and racing it at track twice that i had a closed water system, Let me explain.
I was running a 16 pound cap and realized that my overflow tank was not equipped with a breather i was strictly running 100% water and i started realizing that i was running low on water at different times. When it was brought to my attention that i did not have a breather on my overflow I installed one. After i installed one i did not have any more issues with water loss.
After looking at the gaskets from the information provided here none of the steam holes line up on my c heads nor the block with these particular FEL/PRO 1028 head gaskets!
i will be ordering the proper cometic gasket,s monday and putting her back together asap
i torched a head and exhaust valve costing me unwards of $ 700 to fix the carnage due to someone not knowing what hes doing lesson learned
again thanks lem

Re: C- HEADS ISSUES -THANKS LEM
The holes were non-funtional per usual with the 1028 [most other gaskets will be incorrect also] . Considering the amount of damage, make sure there are no tune-up issues also.
