Crash at home track last night
Track owners wife crashed her car last night at local track. See pics at Prescott Raceway web site in the forum section. It's a Mopar and runs 5.30's. She survived with broken bones and burns. Tough lady. Her and her husband are super folks and have done some pretty cool things for drag racing around here over the years. You guys be thinking about her please.

That car is flat destroyed............
In the forum they mentioned she said the throttle hung.............one can wonder if it had a toe hook or not..........honestly this should never happen if all the safety stuff is in place............and even then shit does still happen.
Another reason to wear your safety gear fellas

The toe hook was there. Whether it worked or not who knows. The car was professionally built. I was surprised to see the fish mouth welds break. I think she is lucky or blessed the car impacted on the passenger side.

Unreal damage, she's lucky to be alive. Looked like a nicely constructed car. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery for her.

Wow, that thing is torn up. Glad she wasn't hurt any worse than she was. I wonder if some of those bars were cut and bent out of the way to get her out instead of breaking upon impact?

Scary ride for sure, prayin for a fast recovery.
The cage looks like it held up good around the driver, but the passenger side does look like the welds let go, or broke right at the weld. There was some serious forces going on there, something has to give! She may have had fewer injuries to her arms with arm restraints maybe??

Re: Crash at home track last night
I'm guessing they cut alot of that tubing to help get her out. If there's a video I'd probably like to see it. If that car came apart like that just from impact, I'd think there would've been a chassis issue. I saw a 4 second car crash last year at our 1/8 mile track, and it didn't even come close to looking that bad. Whatever the cause, I hope she has a speedy recovery.

I was not there to see the crash first hand but looking at the bars it looks like the weld broke at the fish mouth. I do not think bars were cut to free her. She is very lucky to still be with us. I wish nothing but the best for her family and her speedy recovery.
