? on Alky prices
I call 3 different tracks got prices from 2 of them one of them was closed 2 weeks. What the alky guys paying now days 1 track said $6.25 a gallon the other one said $5.00 but he could sale me 54 gallon drum for $210.00 that just seams alittle high.If alky has gone up that high I might go back to gas the gas would be cheaper to run.

125.00 a drum here shppped to my door.
call a chemical supplier, it seems the fuel distributors label it as a "racing" fuel and feel they should get more for it.
Normaly alky goes up in the winter months.

Same here in the Atlanta area. A drum is about $155.
The "racing" methanol is typically around $5 or $6 per gallon.
My old car prefers the cheap stuff.

I called around to the local paint stores they want $260 a drum only thing I hate to buy a drum until I get my carb converted I have a borrowed carb right now he might need it back before I use up a drum and get my carb converted.

I could live that price but at $5.00 about 2 gals to get it up to temp make 4 or 5 passes that would burn up 10 gals then going to have to have a couple to get it loaded and unloaded thats $60 / 5 = $12 apass to try the alky out verses 5 gals of 110 turbo blue $36.45 / 5 = $7.29 apass but if the rain stays away tomorrow night I will know if I want to stay with the alky or get back on the gas.

Re: ? on Alky prices
Jim i've never ran an alky carb just the injection but i fill the car up before i load it,warm up burns about a gallon, then make 5 passes and burn only 5 more.i guess the warm up time could burn more with a carb if you dont have a way to lean it out some.69F100 wrote:Tommyj466 wrote:140 for a 55 gallon drum here. 3.00 a gallon at the track.
