460 Twin Turbo - Finalizing the build & Selecting Turbos - Help Please
I am trying to finalize my Twin Turbo Build and I have been getting turbo recommendations that have been all over the map. So I stepped it up and tried Borg Warner's MatchBot and here's the results.
This is going in a 64 Fairlane Thunderbolt "Tribute Car" mostly for the Street.
Engine Specs:
Base engine will be about 525 HP N/A with 9.2:1 CR. I want to boost it 8 to 10 PSI for 750-800 HP.
Engine - 460 BBF, Bore - 4.390", Stroke - 3.85", Max RPM - 6500
Stock Block - Stock Crank
Forged Rods & Pistons
SCJ Heads (Unported) M-6049-SCJA
Intake - Single Plane Torker II
Cam - .590 / ,615 Lift - 244 / 254 Duration @ .050 - 112 Lobe Seperation
750 CFM Blow Thru Carb
Exhaust Manifolds - Custom built by me
Twin Turbos - ????
Boost - 8 to 10 PSI
No Innercooler- Plan on Water / Methanol Injection
46mm Wastegates - ????
50mm Blow Off Valve - ????
Ignition - MSD Programmable 6AL-2
Wastegate and Water-Meth Controllers - Have not decided - Probably programmable
Fuel System - Aeromotive 11101 Pump and 13204 Regulator
The results tor the twins from working thru MatchBot are:
91mm Compressor with a 67.8mm Inducer and 92.2mm exducer
87mm Turbine with a 1.10 A/R
Here's a link to the output data using 10PSI as the upper boost pressure at 6,000 RPM

I also ran the program using 15 psi as an upper limit just to check to see if I could dial it up with that combo.

This seems like a freeking large pairs of turbos, but it kinda coincides with the closest size turbo that I could find in the Garrett catalog. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT40/GT4088_703457_2.htm
Since this is the first time I have used MatchBot, does it look like I did it right?
Does anyone have any advise for me on this build and the selection of components?
Thanks in advance

the turbos that the calculator came up with are only 67mm turbo's which are tiny but very capable.
I sent you a pm.

Thanks for the explanation. So if I got it right, I am looking for a set of 67mmTurbos with a 87mm turbine and an AR of 1.10?
I do not understand how to spec the "trim".

I am just switching from single 106 to twins on a 533, on a bbf with small twins you will want as much waste gate as you can afford to control boost will get on boost quick , go at least twin 50 mm if you can afford. twin b/w 75 with .96 exhaust housings would be a fun street setup. keep us in loop sound like fun build.

not to hijack, but why are you switching from a large single to twins?

back pressure, even at 21 psi not much reward past 21 psi for each lb of boost 106 garret with 1.50 exhaust housing max power was at 23 psi no power gain at 24.5 psi , 26 lbs max, going twin b/w 88 with 1.0 housings don't want to push much more than 25 lbs but know theres more power/mph there. have been 7.6 at 186 at 3475 on radails. hoping to be on dyno in 4-5 weeks will keep posted gettin ready for scsn vegas november

which bw 88's? We've ran that with a single bw s500sx-4 88 so you have a LOT of potential with a pair of those.
