Well the 712's going together!!!
Started the final work on it Tuesday morning , the block is an 1987 vintage AR aluminium 11.200 deck block with 4 -4 bolt main caps(steel)rear is only 2bolt , a new 5.300 stroke Bryant billet crank , Venolia Aluminum 7.190 long rods , Venoilia pistons 4.625 bore custom built , an old set of well raced A441 BOSS heads, and a Kaase designed 1" lift cam , + 4 -maybe 5 nitrous kits!!!!and a C6. Expected ET in my 2800 lb '93 Mustang Door car 6.7's -6.8's @ 215-220 mph!!!!!!! I hate to jinx the project but I plan on racing this motor on the August 27- 28 weekend!!!!!and the dyno is booked for the motor aug 22- 25
took a full day after the cylinders were bored and honed of clearancing to get the 5.300 arm with aluminum rods to clear the bottom of the cylinders and the pan rail , the crank and rods and pistons were in and out today and we have the .050" min every were!!!
Talking about theft , here's the sign in my shop!

Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
up here, Canadian Tire sells an alarm system that calls me on my cell ( gives me time to load the rifle) $65 with 1 motion sensor all wireless and addtional sensors are $20 with a 1000 ft range from the base and Walmart sells a great little pressure washer for less that $100 (1400 psi) and it works great for cleaning up stains on the concrete!!!!

Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
buttoned up the short block tonight , good thing I had a set of -.001 ,std & +.001 rods and mains on the shelf and have a lath as the comp cam journals were .002 larger than any of my crane cams ( and their a bitch to polish down) she's set at .003" on the rods and mains with .008 for endplay, .008 on the pistons to bore , and .0025 on the cam journals

Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
Frank: That small base circle cam is about the skinniest cam I've ever seen (LOL)! Is that required due to the big arm on your stroker crank? That's gonna be one nasty mofo, I can't wait to see the dyno numbers!

Small base circle for getting that 1" of lift. I have a .965 lift cam that has no base circle also.Wayne Pearce wrote:Frank: That small base circle cam is about the skinniest cam I've ever seen (LOL)!
