Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
a person can get lot's of sleep when your dead , worked the last 15 day's with less than 5 hrs a night sleep a night! it's great program for weight loss as this spring I was a hefty 235 Lbs and now I'm under 200 lbs and last winter building my transbrake VB's I worked 63 18hr days straight and gained weight, takes will power and a will to go fast!! , you just have to push HARD !!! Back to work now !!!!

Theres a sign you might need a little bit more sleep Frank O and sry to hear about the starter and ring gearFrank Merkl wrote:update ,well it fired right up this morning sounds awesome!!!! , warmed it up shut it down to adjust the crank trigger and the valves and guess what ? some how with all the work getting done the start retard got unplugged and you quessed it broke the end off the starter and a couple of teeth off the ring gear !!! so the tranies coming back out!!!! going on my 2nd day without sleep !!!

Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
well guy's the results are in from the weekend , we got 5 passes in before we killer another ring gear and starter , tuning those split Domis is a challange as my laptop or the data logger got a virus and wasn't working and we were extremely fat on the jetting yet . We ran a 7.98@ 167mph with a 1.15 60' , 5.15 660' @ 136mph . As the trans has to come out to put another ring gear in the motor will be coming out and getting the bearings checked and then over to the dyno to get set up properly but I'm taking a day or two off from working on the car !!
Frank
PS Dillon says this thing makes big power as doing a burnt out to the 330 clocks barely needs 1/4 throttle!

Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
Yeah, I think just the fact you made the race was amazing in itself.
Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
Yes I'm going to get some sleep!!! Sat nite at the track the races finished up at 11:30pm and a few of us were sitting around having a drink and at 1 AM the main power panel blew up and started on fire !!! so 4 of us worked until 5AM sunday morning changing rewiring the main power panel at the track ,were lucky we have a major electrical contractor as a sponsor and racer at the track !!!I was back up at 8:30am to tech cars that had showed up to race for sunday!! Sunday I got home at 6:45 PM went in the house and sat in my lazyboy and fell asleep by 7pm and sleep staight through until 7:30 this morning!!!

Wow! Thats some seriously crappy DA!
I didn't go racing this weekend because of the heat---it was 105 where I was, no way am I racing in that heat.

Re: Well the 712's going together!!!
This reminds of the whole month of may every year, trying to get ready before the first race in june. All work no sleep and telling myself the whole time quit making changes. But I always seem to forget the stress I put myself through, kinda like a bad hangover swearing I'll never drink again Great job Frank looks good.

The reality of the situation is that Canadians are just plain old more hard core then Americans. I think it has to do with more sun and the crisp clean air. When the sun doesn't go down till 11 pm then rises at 04:30 it is not hard to put in 15 hour days. In the winter every one parties their ass off and still does outdoor activities even though it is 40 below. Since I moved down south my work ethic has slowed and my waist line shows it.
