new 429 combo (to me)
motor: just recently traded a rebuilt 350 chevy marine motor 4 bolt main. (my chevy friends hate me for this!!!) for a 68 429 bb blueprinted balanced. ported c8ve-e heads. guy told me he spent 2k on port work and machine shop. "mild" cam edelbrock performer. roller rockers. dont know what the cam or crank looks like yet. C6 trans 3200 stall, shift kit. all rebuilt with light use in a jaguar.
Car: 1989 stang lx, weld wheels, slicks, cowl hood, b&m shifter, manual rack, alum driveshaft. in excellent condition.
plan on getting the kit from dd, maybe a wet shot later. and changing the cam, probably a custom grind.
what do you guys think? do's? dont's? hp? times? worth doing? lol.

Should be a good running engine if everything checks out. Without knowing the cam, C/R, and head flow/induction, it's hard to guess the hp/tq. IMHO just about any time you can dump a POS chevy in trade for a BBF you have done well.

Even a custom cam will usually have a number on it.

#s should be stamped on the end of it.When you pull the heads see what size valves it has in it

Yes the C6 is a 3 speed auto, and you will do more than 5mpg if you keep your foot out of it.
