Back from Silver Dollar
Well, it was a good day and a bad day. First, Mike picked me up in the parking lot at Gulfstream and said you won't believe what happened on the way over here. He ran over an aluminum ladder and punched a hole in the front of his trailer. We get to the track and the weather is beautiful but windy as hell, headwind straight down the track. First pass Mike runs a 7.71 @ 170mph with 15mph headwind. Second pass the run looks good a 7.67 @ 171mph, same head wind. Something was wrong because I get back to the pits on the 4 wheeler before Mike. I head down to the big end and he's sitting on the side of the return road. He said he heard a strange noise coming from the right side of the engine. We hook up the tow rope and stop to pick up the time slip. The girl there said the starting line crew had a header bolt that came from Mikes engine. It came from #1 header tube flange. Part of the boss there was already broken and Mike thought he probably had engaged enough threads for it to hold. It didn't, and we think it pulled the threads on the other bolt because there was about a 1/4" gap between the header flange and head surface. Anyway we had a good time. With some more work and tuning the car has great potential. We definitely think Deann's converter from her P head engine is not a good match. Plus we got to watch Keith Fulp run in the 10.90 Index Super Street race. I got some video of that too, but I'll put that up tomorrow. I'm tired and going to bed.

good looking runs Mike
Doug don't you like the dummies walking in front of you when you trying to record then they turn and look at you and say sorry and still get in the way.

Re: Back from Silver Dollar
It was a good day. It could have been better, but a good day just the same...
The motor is actually the current #1 motor, the 555 out of my white car, with the PTC converter out of Dee's car.
The new car, ready to run, weighs 50lbs more then my white car... 1940lbs
As with any new car, it's a matter of figuring out where you are, to get where you want to be...Example...
We had the car shifting on time, 2 seconds out...about 7600rpm...
On the second run, we backed it up to 1.8 seconds and gained .04
More tweaking to do, but we'll get there. That 15 mph wind didn't help.
And then there is that new bullet.......

Nice Have you got a throttle enhancer on it? If not, I'd like to see one put on. Anyway, it looks like you put a spanking on that yellow dragster in that other lane ,,,,,about 2 tenths worth maybe. Good job guys
