Tuning with a wideband O2 sensor
I was wondering if anyone has used the FAST wideband air/fuel kits?
I have heard good things about the Innovative Motorsports kit.
I have never used one before but is it something you leave in all the time? Do you want a sensor in each side (seems better to me)?

Fast system
I dont have one but I spoke at length with a guy who was running one on his SS Impala (new one) at the track this weekend. He was getting his "Aircraft Carrier" sbc chevy down the track @ 11.30!! Car has all orig options and interior. Naturally aspirated with nitrous soon. He had his initial tune done on a dyno, and has been learning how to fine tune for the last year and is very happy with it. He adjusted his top end fuel to cure top end lean issues to make his mid 11s. It got my attention enough to start researching use on my BBF.

I used the Innovate on my old car. It is a very helpful tuning tool.

I have one from Altronics. More than just an O2 meter. Poor man's data logger. Records or realtime: rpm, a/f ratio, egt, voltage. You can another channel of a/f and two other things. Vacuum, driveshaft rpm ,etc.

Great tuning tools. Depending on Fuels sometimes you can't read plugs.

Re: Tuning with a wideband O2 sensor
Well all my cars are street cars so the odds of me going out for blast then coasting to the side of road to pull a plug are slim to none. This seems like a much better real time tuning device for my application.

I have the LM2 from innovate and have had lots of problems mainly not being accurate on the rpm reading. Have spoken to them 6-8 times in their tech guy's ( Falepe) treats you like Sh*t. But when we make a run it never records the RPM right. I cross the traps at 6800 and it reads 4500-4800. Ive been through every set up possibility and none of them have ever worked right.
I'll sell you mine.

Re: Tuning with a wideband O2 sensor
Each of the 4 different LM2 units I've had the misfortune to use had a show-stopping problem of some sort.
Zeitronix, AEM, PLX, MoTeC, TechEdge - they all seemed to work well.

Well that is some very useful feedback even though it is negative.
Thanks a bunch.

Re: Tuning with a wideband O2 sensor
The LM1 was a more durable / reliable unit than the newer LM2, IMHO.
A suggestion would be to use 2 sensors, one for each bank.
Log as much data as you can, combine it with with at least RPM and vacuum and then study the results. Correct your tune where necessary.
