It's a shame for no more effort that it would have taken, they didn't make the BBF forging the same way.

Other than polishing, the craftsmanship on my bbf doesn't look bad imo.

Re: Eagle vs Scat cranks
Sonny Bryant forged cranks machined from the Ford raw forgings ... that's it. There are no others and hope you want a Boss snout.nuclearcobra wrote:What cranks are made in the USA ?

YES ... but, that is made from a billet not a forging.

I believe at one time Crower was buying the forgings from Ford and machining them, not sure if they still have any or not.

In 2002 Ford sold their entire inventory of big block raw forgings to Sonny Bryant. Whatever happened before that time is anybody's guess, lol.

That darn sure is a fact.....I've never been sure of the year. I've said for years that Sonny must have bought a train loan of them...being that he still has some I'm thinking he could have bought two train loads
Re: Eagle vs Scat cranks
Ive got a raw forging laying in the shop. That sucker must weigh a 125 lbs! Makes a good paper weight. The only machining done is it's centerdrilled on each end.
