Converter might be loose?
Hey,
Got the new converter and it's a 4K Stall. Here is the In-car vid from Pinks.. My old converter was a 3K stall & between shifts it went to 3K..
I'm thinking the converter is too loose! What do ya think?

Hi, could we get a little more info on your set up? How much actual stall are you seeing? It doesn't seem to fall back too far on the shift, if you can post more info, it would help.

Well If I watch the incar video.. I shift @ 6300 and it looks like it drops to 4500? I thought 4K was a choice spot for the cam but it looks like maybe the converter is dropping only to 4500? It's maybe not a bad thing because I might go up in cam with aluminum heads.
The car sounds like a Lenco Transmission.. I guess it's good?
Watch the tach in the video..

I guess my eyes are too bad Les to see the tach.
Your direct clutches would appreciate it if you wouldn't neutral the tranny at the end of the run.........

Stick her in "N" to make sure ya got oil to the motor. "G" Forces!
Talk to me big ski daddy! Rule of thumb was to keep oil to the motor! Was I wrong?

Re: Converter might be loose?
Ya dont need to throw it in neutral at the end Les, if your oil guage is dropping at the end which i hope its not then its some other problem then g forces. I raced my cobra two for years pullin the wheels up there with 1.40 60' shifting at 7k with a stock front sump pan and pump and never hurt anything maybe im just lucky i dont think most racers throw it in neutral over the stripe.westsideford wrote:richter69 wrote:I guess my eyes are too bad Les to see the tach.

Re: Converter might be loose?
Kinda sounds like my C6 did when it flared up, only a little worse... With my Glide, it only drops about 1000-1100 rpm on the shift, right where Lenny said it should be... And on kickin' it to neutral, I was told (with the Glide) it would make it easier on the dizzy gear retaining pin if I hit neutral at/after the stripe...?
