Re: Hemi Twin Turbo Outlaw 10.5 Shelby build
Disagree, only on the technicality that the Shelby's are limited production, so had it sat and rotted in a warehouse, it would one day sell for LOTS. For what he will keep of the Shelby, he'd have been further ahead getting a 6 cylinder car and buying the Shelby plastic.
Its his money, his car, and more power to him. Hell I'de volunteer to drive the pick-up around that carries his balls for a couple days, just to say I knew him.

With Out even pushing it hard. From what I have read you have alot left, if you want to go Faster. Have not seen any 572ci mod motor's either, no subs. for cu. inches, when it comes to durability, and horepower. We just need the cyl. heads to match the cid in airflow, that the mod motors have, and it would not even be a race. The weight difference in all alum. motors would be negliable, compared to the HP output. Same with Chevy and the Mavk IV BB vs the Ls motors.psfracer wrote:Your article pretty much shows exactly why I went with the BBF also. Not only are they much easier to work on vs the Mod motor, but, as your article shows, once you start really leaning on the little mod motor, it becomes pretty unreliable. While my current set up is no faster then what a mod motor could do with a lot of boost, it is certainly more reliable, as I make pass after pass without failure, all motor, in the 9.40s at 3420lbs.
I think in the end you are making the right choice, as the big block ford should give you the power you are looking for and do so with reliability. Of course as long as its built right, which would apply to any motor.

You need to keep the [IMG] part of the tag and delete the [URL] part of the tag if you want the image to show. Nevermind, apparently its a problem on my end.
Re: Hemi Twin Turbo Outlaw 10.5 Shelby build
It is apparently something that photobucket has changed. In the past when I copied the IMG link from photobucket it didn't do that, but now it does. The images still display properly except on the mobile version of the this website.psfracer wrote:You need to keep the [IMG] part of the tag and delete the [URL] part of the tag if you want the image to show. I cut up my first car into a thousand pieces. It may never move under its own power again, but I still got it.70FB wrote:Nice work and keep on it. I'm getting ready to start cutting on my car..Because its mine.

Re: Hemi Twin Turbo Outlaw 10.5 Shelby build
Anybody have any thoughts on what this motor would be capable of NA with a good NA cam, tunnel ram style sheetmetal intake, and dual carbs? At the current CR of 11.7:1? At a higher CR? I'd probably still run alcohol so that I don't have to add a cooling system and change the fuel system later.

I dropped the chassis off at the powder coater's the other day. I spent today prepping and painting the underside of the body shell so that it will be ready when the chassis returns from the powder coater.

Very nice . I am personally glad you cut up a Shelby, you will get more recognition just from that one small piece of the puzzle. Congrats.

I got a call today that the chassis powder coating is done. Unfortunately, I'm tied up with work and won't be able to pick it up until next Friday.

This is the structural tree that ties the front clip together and supports it. It looks like a work of art. It's a shame that it will be mostly hidden.
These are the frames that will support the Lexan side windows.
The k-member. It started its life as a BMR piece.
