Re: aluminium rods ???
I've heard of them but I have not used them. I do know people who have used them and they have had good results. I don't know about the whole lasting way longer however but anything's possible. I use the BME rods in a few big Fords and what I've found is that by the time the wrist pin hole is getting pretty worn out it's about time for a new set anyway. We've been running them for about 2 years in the monster truck engines. 4.500 stroke running to 7000rpm most of the time and 7500rpm once in a while on a long track.

They do make a very good rod. I have known them since my old super gas days and they are good guys. I dont know about the claim for 3 times as long as the competitors. 10 years ago, I'd say their closest competitor was BME. Today,?
You would be happy with their product and service.

Groden rods for 5 years in a little 532 ci mud drag combo making maybe 800 hp. Spun the engine to 8000 rpm pretty consistently. I'll put them right back in the engine when it gets freshened up.

Hey Randy, I think I have another bagful of "award components" in the garage. This batch flew out the side of a MoPar hemi, so they're not in as good condition as the others.

Re: aluminium rods ???
I know of a set of Groden Rods in a BBF pulling motor with a fairly heavy piston that has a dozen dyno pulls, 1 full season of pulling and going on a second. All pulls over 8500, Some have peaked at 9400 on the chip. This season most pulls down the track have been over 9000. Good rod, service okay not great. I have a new never used set of 6.890s I'd ship for $950.

Bret, RGL,
Would you care to say, (WITHOUT BASHING) what happened honestly? Dont mean to be nosey.
If its a good product, maybe its worth hearing and left up to our own interpretation...
I met a Gentlemen at Milan this last Saturday. His 466/P.I. motor had a set in it. Motor was nothing exotic and ran 8.90's in his altered all day long.
Thanks.
Regards.
Al
