block plate behind flywheel?
I just orderd my JW bell for powerglide and was wondering if I still use that block plate behind flywheel? also where do I buy the flywheel needed for this swap and anything else I may need? Any sponsers that can hook me up? Thanks

get the flexplate from JW too.and yes,you need the block plate also.

To add to Cool40s advice....
As I recall, the OE block plate may interfere with the ultra bell on the driver's side. I think there is a slight area that prevents everything from fitting flat. If so, just trim the driver side portion off, below the block...leaving the starter hole(s) portion. The extra benefit of that trimming is letting cooling air to the converter area.
Also, you will need JWs crank pilot adapter if it did not come with your bell. Maybe they include it...
The JW Wheel fits the application well and will be fine, up to about 900 HP. Just keep an eye on the ring gear welds....they will break!

Oh...one more tip...
Be sure to use red Loctite on your Ultrabell/pump bolts. As you need replacement o- rings that go on each bolt, they are pump o-rings for a GM 700R4 Trans.

that helps alot thanks, then I just need to order a converter for my app and a case cover and I should be good outside of stuffing the inside with the right goodies.

one of my converters was made with the bbf hub on the front so i did'nt need the ring for it,but the ring is easy and also puts you where you could use any gm converter and sell yours if you wanted.just an option.........
