CAM vs SPRINGS
OK this is a topic that I have been wanting to know for a while. How are valve spring spec'ed out for the different cam grinds. I have little 514 and not sure what the cam is Small not raidical lift 440 lift) but the triple spring that comp wants me to runs are 350 closed and 875 open. now I have a new cam From Lem that I explained that I have K-Motion 1000h's that are 260 closed and 800 open. So when you design a cam profile how is the spring rate determined?
I remember seeing a video of Richard Maskin saying the the biggest problem people have is TOO MUCH spring pressures

Re: CAM vs SPRINGS
Alot has to do with acceleration rates and weight of parts thruout the valve train, its not just the camshaft specs.
If you think to much is bad......... You don't want to think about to little !!!! Thats worse !!
Their is also this funny little thing called frequency or Mechanical Renosense...... Scary stuff too !!!
