What will the Ford F150 aluminum driveshaft handle?
I came across one out of a 90 F150 and was curious if it could handle a mid 500hp bbf leaving off a Tbrake @ 4000rpm????
It would need a new slip yoke and shortened up.
Should I spend the $$ to have it fit to my truck or would it be a waste of time and $$?

If thinking of buying a used one just make sure it don't have any big scracthes or dings or it will brake where they are. I started to use mine out of the ranger and have it shorten but it had a ding that I would not be able to get out.Not sure what the factory aluminum drive shalfd will take but have herd they are strong.

I'd have a race type Chrome Moly one build new, with big joints and a billet yoke.
A used factory Aluminum one Is not a great idea for what your doing IMO.

I have decided to bite the bullet and have a new one made.
It's $320 new with all good parts and 1350 U joints from a local shop.
Anyone using a billet 9" yoke from the guy in Ames IA. that sells on ebay?

I think Schmitty or some of the guy out that way have mentioned a guy in Ames.
Smart move getting a new one, its just not worth the risk running an old factory piece.
