Do any of our Ford insiders know........is it true that there is no Eco boost available for the Platinum 2015 Ford F150?
Just wondering.

Thanks,

Buy a truck with a "Raptor" engine in it unless you are after gas mileage.

the 6.2 isn't a bad motor. not very good on fuel mileage even worse with a super charge on it. i would say if your at sea level it might tow a limited amount but if thats what your in to get a stroker... we have a RAPTOR and it a super nice truck but its had every mod you can think of but the best the fuel mileage is about 11.0
for those that would like to see it check out the facebook page of NICOLETTI MOTORSPORTS

I don't think that's true the 3.5 EcoBoost will be the top engine in the 2015 F-150 and the 6.2 will be gone for the 2015 F-150.Engine lineup will be 3.5L N/A,2.7L EcoBoost,5.0 and 3.5L EcoBoost.

I could be wrong on the 6.2,maybe the Raptor will still have it like mentioned above.

I'll tell ya this much about the 6.2L... More and more fleet and comercial accounts are going to it in the F250. A lot of people are getting away from the overly complex 6.7L diesel.as far as fuel economy goes on 6.2L my wife get a little over 16 in the city. FX4 super crew with 3.55's

I wish they would put the 6.2 Raptor engine in a big car or even a Navigator. Mileage wouldn't be so noticeable with 1,000 less pounds.

The a raptor is freakin huge!!! It pushes a lot of wind goin down the road. Throw the heavy rims and tires on it... Hell no wonder it's got 4.10's in it. My wife's FX4 will hand the ecoboost it's ass in a paper sack. Freakin truck with that 6.2L is amazing.its like a 4dr lightning. I think the engine is cool a shit too.

I bet up here in the cold Ohio winter you would get no where near 16 mpg in the city.

Motor & Trend did a F-150 Test October 2011.The 6.2 is rated at 411 Horsepower but made 329 Horsepower and 335 lb.ft. of Torque at the rear wheels. The EcoBoost is rated at 365 Horsepower and made 316 Horsepower and 344 lb.ft. of Torque at the rear wheels.I'm sure the 6.2 feels stronger on the top end but doesn't make as much torque down low as the EcoBoost. If you look at rear wheel numbers from Flywheel numbers the 6.2 is down 82 horsepower.Where the EcoBoost is down only 49 horsepower.

If you go by Rear Wheel Torque to Flywheel the 6.2 is down 99 lb.ft and the EcoBoost is down 76 lb.ft. of torque.

They did use 87 octane fuel, would've been cool to see what they made on 93 octane.

Maybe, but which one will get the best gas mileage on 87 octane, last longer and tow more, is what most truck buyer's want to know? I would like to see a 5.4-5.8 NA engine that does it all, and not worry about a few HP. 300-400HP in a 1/2 ton is plenty, and the 5.3's from the other brand seem to have it covered I hate to say. Ford should take note, I think. The 5.0 maybe the ticket, just make one a tad larger, and stick with it, and quit introducing different engines all the time. Ford should have done this with the 351's back in the day also.

I only have two words for the engine crap that happened in the 90's ... Jack Nassar.

The Tremors are regular cabs. No supercab or supercrew. Regular cab F150s are not where the volume is.
