10k in rebates 2015 F150 ?
Ford is saying there's a shortage of trucks and that's why the rebates... Huh...? Got them lined up as far as I can see over here...? Any time we saw rebates like that is to move them.

Humm 10K rebates on trucks that average 50K with decent trim.
When did a 15-24K Full trim XLT/Lariat turn into a 35-50K truck?
Ridiculous to think of people buying vehicles that cost 1/3 or more of what a house used to cost....
No wonder mid class is dying off.
But yet, someone on food stamps can have a donked ride with 24 spokes that cost over 10k.

Must be a dealer discount, because I just saw one for $9,000 discount in Texas also on a commercial. I can't see more than low 30's for a decked half ton either.

sad thing is we have just as many is service as we do in inventory. between the water leaks, all the modules shitting the bed. the edge water leaks. the S/D knock ping rattle during regen for a 60k truck that is normal. ford is pumping out some garbage these days.

How much money does a person have to make to be able to justify the purchase of a new truck and still live within their means, plan for retirement, college funds for any children, and pay for groceries, the electric bill etc? I just have a hard time thinking about a 800-1000 a month payment without that truck making a profit of at least that much for the owner in some way weekly. I've never had a new vehicle of my own. I am fortunate and get to drive a 1-2 year old company vehicle at all times. I still just cant see how people think to themselves, "I'm going to spend 30-40-50k on this vehicle with ABSOLUTELY ZERO chance of ever not loosing money"...

You can thank the people that claim to be the providers of your 40 hour work week and weekends off. That's how you got $50k pickups.

Re: 10k in rebates 2015 F150 ?
Total incentives = equipment package discounts + dealer discounts + rebate[s]
In our region the most 'incentives' are on the 302A XLT luxury chrome package. $4,000 of rebates + $2,000 lux/chrome package [which is not a rebate it has been taken off the window sticker].
The platinum package F150 have but a $1,000 rebate. I wish there big rebates on the plat. and king ranch....we'd be selling a lot more trucks.

I have only bought one new car back in 95 it was a Buick Century for the wife an it was $15,000 with my stepfather discounts from GM that is the most I have paid for one. I buy used now when I bought the wife the Taurus the Ford dealer tried to sale me a new one told him I would just stay with the 2010 for $13,500 verses the $38,000 plus for a new one.

I guess that depends on your means. I have a retirement, my kids and wife went to college without any loans, we are fat and sassy, the lights stay on even during the day, etc. I drive a nice pickup and have never had a payment, my wife drives a new Lincoln every 4-5 years. We buy new only and get our moneys worth out of them, but anyone that thinks they are going to make money on a nice daily driver is out of their minds. However, I write off a very large portion of my vehicles. I haven't owned a vehicle that was less than $40k in probably 15 years, or ate bologna.

If it weren't for banks, GM, FCA and the UAW would have folded. Interest rates are artificially low to protect the stock market, not them.
Yes the government does have a lot to do with CAFE standards that are punitive to buyers. They also forced banks to loan money to deadbeats that couldn't afford dog house, much less a penthouse.
Yes, lawyers are necessary in a society that has no personal responsibility.
But for the most part ABSOLUTELY YES. The unions are the biggest reason for inflated prices. Not only do they have ridiculous salaries and pensions, but they also fund the politicians that create the other problems in the auto industry and AMERICA.

I grew up very poor. Beans were our caviar and bologna was our steak.
I figured as an American, I could find a way out of poverty and it all came with hard work and perseverance and common sense.
And my bologna comes in the form of a hot dog these days.
