hard start after warmed up?
after i fire this 351c it starts hard as if it floods some gas after I shut it down. And u see the smoke rolling out of the carb after shut down also which makes me think either the carb is bleeding some fuel after shut down or its just to rich to begin with. its a holley 1000cfm 4150. thoughts or q's?

check float level
start engine, let it warm up,then shut it down, with ing power off ,turn on fuel pump and quickly look down carb with pump running and watch for 3 to 5 mins for fuel dripping
smoke comming from the carb normal if t/blades are open a little on a sometimes hot engine
if you see fuel dripping check float level

power valve leak? i had a 1050 years ago that would flood like hell at start up cold but after it warmed up it was fine.the bowl screws had been over tq'd and pulled the corners of the carb body.this caused fuel to leak from between the metering plate and body through the vac port for the power valve.i put the body on a mill and flycut it flat and all was good. is the carb dry after it sets a day or two?
