1964 falcon drag car with a 428 in it.... what front spring to put in the.....
Front.... has mustang II front suspension with tubular A-arms, manual rack steering, comp engineering drag shocks... my buddy replaced the stock 40 yr old springs last year with stock replacement springs. I don't know the spring rate just that he had to cut a coil and a half off the new springs to get the ride height back where it was with the old springs. What do you guys use for springs in your mustang II front suspensions? The car doesn't hook consistently now. Since this is the only thing he changed im thinking this is where the problem is. Front suspension doesn't have enough stored energy or enough travel. Car has a C6 and use to sixty foot in the 1.42-1.44 area running 10.50-10.80 ET's. Car weighs 3100 ready to race. Thanks

2WD Ranger PU springs are in mine. You'll needta shorten 'em up some. Not much for "stored energy" , but the front end don't drag.

After doing some more digging and guessing we are gonna try some 275 lb/inch springs... lowest rate we could find online for the mustang II front suspension. Best I can figure the oem replacement springs he has are 364 or 375 lb/inch thanks for the help guys.
