Fordmud's truck Empty Fordmud's truck

Post  jones May 27th 2012, 2:38 pm

I sold the short block to a Fordmud and he has started hitting the local mud bogs. I just had to go watch the truck make some passes thru the mud last night. He is running in the stock class and I couldn't be happier for him. They say running 3's in the 200' race pit with a stock truck just isn't suppose to happen!
Enjoy!

Thanks for posting that Jones. I've had a lot of help getting this thing together. This sweet bottom end you build me is a hell of a foundation. I can say for sure the Chevy camp is back at the drawing board.

I only got the shortblock. Jones had already sold the Evans ported d3's. I'm running some of the 'bigger' heads. Very Happy

I really wish everybody on the board could witness how blown away everyone at the local races are with Chad's truck! It is crazy! Until now, a stock class truck has never broken into the 3's and the best part of it all is there is one chevy in particular that has been whooping up on everyone for the past few years. Needless to say, that chevy is not only losing, but is a second or more off the pace which is an eternity in 200'.

That sucker hooks up and leaves!
Watching the truck make passes it seems to drive easier than others in the class. They act like the rear is trying to pass the front.

Way Cool That thing is hauling the mail now. I remember when I made the first passes on my stock truck and how the rest of the competition was wondering what just happened. Shocked Great job Chad, that truck is one bad dude, and hope you give the competition something to shoot at for quite a while. Very Happy

Shoot yeah. I appreciate guys. It's been in the works for a long time. I've had a lot of help along the way. I've still got some tinkering to do. It should have a little more left in it. Twisted Evil

x2. Sucks when people get hurt. I'm sure it's a good track, but they could have put more safety precautions in place to prevent that. Notice the large dip separating the flat track from the bog pit? If they just ran a guard rail down the middle it would have helped prevent him from drifting into the pit and loosing control. As fast as that truck is and carrying the front like that, he's just along for the ride anyways, so anything to keep them from crossing tracks would have been helpful. Not saying he wouldn't have crashed when he drifted, just hopefully not as bad.

no kidding.

For those that are reading and wondering, we had a local racer that rolled his truck rather violently (similar to the video). He was running alcohol and had the fuel and rubber tranny lines run through the cab. When he rolled, the tranny lines cought on fire which ignited the fuel lines. The driver, was only wearing shorts and flip flops. He is now in the hospital with 3rd degree burns on about 80% of his body and will probably remain there for a long long time. The track had little to no tech regulations, and as a result, we have been informed they have been shut down as a result of this incident.

While I never wish any ill will to a fellow racer, I have to say stupid actions do catch up to people in the end. That truck should have never been allowed to run with fuel and tranny lines inside the cab, nor should he have been allowed behind the wheel without a SFI fire suit. At the track I just became a partner in, we had a meeting about this and will perform a tech on every truck prior to registration and will not allow trucks to run that we feel are unsafe for the driver, spectators, or staff!

That is not what anyone wants to see at any kind of event. That being said, you are 100% correc Karl, that guy was not running in a safe manner of any kind and should never have been allowed on the track at all. I will not race anywhere that seems unsafe to me or especially the spectators.
