Is there any special place or specs for mounting a fuel cell in the trunk of a fox drag car?

if you mount the cell in the hatch area you need to put a fire wall in front of it mount the cell dead center half in half hanging down if you got the room. then build the fire wall in front and let it go all the way up so it meets the hatch.... hope this makes sense reading it lol.

You can use as thin as you like just needs to cover the area and seal to the hatch when closed

There is an actual rule book spec for how thick the metal needs to be. I don't remember what it is now, but you should look it up before starting.

^^^^yup..I found it .032 for steel cover and .040 for aluminum ..... also if it is a plastic cell and you hang it out of the bottom as I stated before you need to cover the lower section that hangs down.

is that a fuel return line? on the other side looks like a roll over vent if so I would put a hose on it and run it out back.you don't need the fumes of the fuel in the car when theirs a fire...

^^^^^ this, and I recall you are only allowed a total of 12" of rubber in the fuel line, and you should use a bulkhead where the hoses pass through the floor.

Any guesses on about what time my car should run giving everything work good and hook up? I'm figuring 950 to high 900 horsepower, 6c, 5500 converter, 430 gear, 29's, doubles in the front and rear. 3000 pound.
