Main bearing cap torque sequence?
Assembling my motor tommorow I got everything except the main bearing torque sequence. The reason the main bearing caps are coming loose is so i can replace the rear main seal. If anyone has this information it would be greatly appreciated.

Start with the center cap and work your way out, with the outer two caps being torqued last. In two steps. Ie first pass torque them half of your final torque, then torque them again to your final spec. Be sure to use the proper lube for your bolts on the threads and under the head of the bolt/washer

just to be a little more clear. torque them in this order: 3, 4, 2, 5, 1 in two steps.

Make sure to take a BIG dead blow hammer and knock the crank rearward, and then forward in order to set your thrust clearance on the #3 main. Check it with with a feeler gage.
