affordable header options for 460 swap in 77 4x4
I am looking for cheap headers for my beater truck. I prefer 3" collectors and a ball/socket type fitting. I understand that these 4x4 have clearance issues too.
Looking at summit there are a lot of options for 80s trucks but when I filter for a 77 I only get 2 list 500-600+ dollar options
I am wondering in either of these would work without a ton of modding:

I don't know what you are referencing as far as "cheap", but a $450 set of headers is cheap these days. L&L makes headers that are for those year trucks, and I believe Maddog has headers for that application too.

I agree with Rob. If you can find a good set of headers for less, you better get 'em. But, anymore, $500-$600 is pretty much the norm for your basic "affordable" headers...

Well, I respectfully disagree... kinda. These are both $195 new. I am not spending 500-600 for headers on a $800 hunting truck (fixed the links above too)

The 70's and 80's frames are different. The 80-96 models have a little wider frame, so the headers for those models will be too wide for your frame rails.

I have a set of Crome Stans Tri-Y's you can have for 300. They have the ball type socket.

I think my Mad dog's were 463 to my door but there 2" primary's 3.5" collectors and have a solid bolt flange

for a beater, just put maniflods on it, those cheap headers rot out so freaking fast on a mud truck anyway.
