If the propper springs are used is there any ill effects of useing 1.8 rockers to bring up the lift on a sollid roller?\
any oppinions?

^^^^ What Fabio Said..... If your on the edge with your cam now, meaning very agressive lobes, you want to check with the manufacture and see if the springs and other parts are up to the extra timing your going to gain.

Yes, it is done all the time if there is enough "piston to valve", "retainer to guide" and "valve spring coil bind" clearance but, be careful.
IF the flank rates of the camshaft are very aggressive, the extra aggressiveness and loading which will be exerted at the valve MAY cause other problems.
