Siamese Bore Ford Block
The Block Ford sells in the catalog doesn't have water holes between the cyclinders it says in the catalog. Do these engines have a tendency to get warm faster than a passenger car block? Would there be a probloem running one in a street car?

Re: Siamese Bore Ford Block
"This is the first cruise for this engine with a hood on the car. It was in the mid/upper 80s and fairly humid here in metro Detroit today. The car ran hotter with a hood than without (naturally), aprox 10 degrees more.
So the question is this... Is 195 terminal temp during sustained cruising (2500-3000rpm) with spikes of aprox 205 degrees under thrashings, and aprox 190ish during times of coasting, or long stops. TOO hot of a water temp? This is with a 180 thermostat. Should I go back to the 160?
Car ran fine. I didnt get on it too much (still a little nervous about the air cleaner hitting the scoop. Fairly tight tolerances!

1970 Torino GT with a 572" P51 engine....pump gas.

My personal experince is with the R.E.D. that P. Oakley bought from David Cole a few years ago.
It came with a 588" A460 headed engine....it was later replaced with a 547" FRPP SCJ head deal [4.400" bore] with a factory SCJ 4 bolt block. Same rad./hoses/pump....the A460 blocked engine ran about 10* cooler.
I know what most of you are thinking....I'd declare B.S. myself if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.

Re: Siamese Bore Ford Block
With a new OEM vehicle, the fan switch doesn't even trip the electric fan on until 218 degrees.
Some of the new Mustangs are well over 600 horsepower.

Maybe it's not the blocks. Maybe the bigger TFS A460 heads run cooler than the FRPP SCJ heads....we may never know for sure.
