How much do you bore out of an A460 block @ 4.600"?

The blocks come crated at an unfinished 4.340" bore so, do the math on the amount of overbore ... lol.

That's nothing, ever CLEAN your machine shop? I clean my machinist's shop every now and then and its fair but the first time it was BAAAAAAADDDD a LOT of metal.

Best thing to do is what Bob did.........let it go in a tray.....not on the machine or floor.

It was on the CNC, on the pads covering the area where the metal falls which was caked with oil. On the floor, some was in a pile. On rugs, tables. Oh man, I'll get some pics of his shop right now.

This is like when he was a newer shop. The assembly room's floor was just nasty because someone took the coating off and I moved a ton of engines and shelves filled with parts out and scrubbed the floor with a scotch bright pad. I then mopped it, I cleaned the bathrooms which were nasty, I vacuumed the office area and all the rugs. I scrubbed the bathroom's clean, I assembled shevles and filled them up then re did it all. Sweeped the whole shop, organized a TON of his magazines, scrubbed his CNC machines, cleaned his drill presses and tables...and more.

Then I am going back Wednesday and he's showing me how to assemble heads the right way, with my heads. Then on Christmas break he wants me to go back and unassemble some engines and both days I will clean up as a courtesy thing for him showing me so much stuff. He is paying me though, that way I can pay my bill up for the stuff he's done. The bill is paid up now but I still need more $$$ to finish it, $8 an hour.

It's like this, I tell Boo Boo to stay out of McDonalds and Burger King; but does he listen? NO!

I already had Bill Mitchell take all the weight out of our car that he could, my only other option was to go with a bigger motor to pick up some E.T. and MPH.

When Lem built the 572 with SCJ heads we asked him to buy "the good stuff" because the plan was to move up to a 598 with a different head/intake package. The new motor will have TFS A-460s and lots of other go fast stuff

John,

I told Lem he had a clean sheet of paper to build the new motor. We might use the old carb and or distributor but that's about it.

I'll be posting stuff for sale once I know what Lem doesn't want to use.
