best cubic inch combo using stock 3.85 stroke
hey guys after selling my c-heads because i realized how much money it really takes to build a 632 c headed engine and i just cant afford that right now i was able to pick up a DOVE-A block, DOVE heads, internal balance 460 crank, solid roller, eagle h-beams, lunati roller rockers, comp lifters, and a bunch of other stuff to build something more budget friendly. the issue is picking what size piston to use. i was thinking a 477 ci engine. any input would be appreciated

Clean the bores up to where ever they need to be to be strait and get on with it.
I'd honestly build somethig with some after market heads like SCJ's or P-51's, its a much better investment than dumping a boat load into the Iron DOVE heads. You'll be a bunch of power ahead for the money.

What is your ET goal and what type of chassis and weight do you have to work with? Are you willing or wanting to spray it to reach your goal?
I know of the one 514 that Rich has for sale and you could not build it for what he is asking, perhaps shoot him a pm and get his number to discuss it.

Said 514 ^^^^^ makes great power. X2 on can't build it for what he's selling it for.

The car is a 1994 cobra, stock suspension with a wolfe 8.50 kit. Weight should be around 3000 to 3200. I would love to pick up a engine that is already built but I'm sitting on all these parts and I know if I tried to sell I wouldn't get my money back that I spent on them. The heads I have are already ported and I have roller springs to match the cam and, 2.20 intake and 1.76 stainless valves.

If you must go that route then I would spend the money on a good custom piston and get the compression up, from now on after this build I think custom piston will be the way I go. But as stated I would just go to where it needs to be cleaned up to on the bore.

Well I think I'm going to go with a set of custom arias piston and get my compression closer to 13:1. hopefully it will make good power. If not ill just spray it haha

Arias makes a shelf piston that will get you 14:1 with 72cc heads.......
Diamond also has some domed stuff avaliable too.

Only down side to the Arias shelf stuff is they need additional radial clearance for 2.25 Valve's so keep that in mind and ask if you can get them opened up as an option, its cheaper and easier than doing it in by the machine shop.

Mines well over .800.......
The Arias pistions I got where a little on the expensive side IMO. It my buddy wasn't trying to get a account set-up (I promised I'd help him) I could have gotten the diamond customs and pimped them out for just a little more.
Get the better ring pack to if you go custom its worth a fair amount of power. .043 / .043 / 3mm
