i was wondering if anyone knew the height difference between an A head carb pad with the trickflow
A intake versus a CJ head with the trickflow dominator CJ intake? thanks in advance.

I don't know the exact numbers but, it is a bunch higher.
The Motorsport "A" intake is not.

Trick Flow lists the new style A460 intake as 8.60" at the carb pad.
The Track Heat CJ intake is listed at 6.80"

ok are the heads themselves taller also?for example the intake is 1.8"'s taller but the heads are also say 1/2" taller?
i'm trying to take care of potential hood troubles while waiting for parts from the machine shop. i have already lowered the engine 1 inch so far. sounds like i need another inch at least?

That measurement is from the china wall on the block, which would be the same regardless of which heads are used.
I went and and used a tape measure on mine. A heads and new style A intake. I would have guessed about 8.75" with tape and eyeball.

a-heads combo and hood clearance should not be used in same sentence.

All right I appreciate the responses. Its a full size bronco and I'm going to try to sneak it under the stock hood. We'll see. Thanks

well i made new engine mounts and modified the frame mounts , engine now is 1 1/2" lower and sits more "level". i think it should be ok now. hopefully. at worst i won't be able to run a carb spacer.
