Re: FYI sfi specs
but it is up to the tracks and/or racing organization to determine what that means in terms of 1/8th mile.

Re: FYI sfi specs
Ok guys,
Which one of these specs do I need to follow?
3800lb 1982 F100
Plans are for high 10's
full stock frame with no firewall/floor pan mods yet. We might cut the firewall for engine setback in the future.

Re: FYI sfi specs
If you're not shooting for an ET of 8.49 or faster in the 1/4, then you don't need to follow the SFI specs. The specs in the NHRA/IHRA rule books will be enough for ET's of 8.50 & slower.f250mike wrote:Ok guys,

Only 2 real reasons for going with any of the SFI specs on a race car that's slower than 8.49 is if future plans call for ET's faster than 8.50, or to increase a car's resale value.

Re: FYI sfi specs
Thanks Dave
I'll follow the nhra book.
There's no way the truck will ever be fast enough to require the sfi spec or have any resale value.
