Any suggestions about what paint to use under the hood of the 98. It is bare metal everything is smoothed out.I want something that is rock hard and will stay put.I guess color of choice would be black I want a gloss finish. second color of choice would be body color but I have not decided on a color yet. I guess best of both worlds would be a gloss black finish that can be used as is or scuffed and shot with body color.
Let me know if there is anything out there. Thanks Ward

Imron or some other two part epoxy type paint is what most chassis builders use.

If you want something real nice that comes in a rattle can, try VHT Roll Bar & Chassis Paint.

I buy it from Advance auto parts or get it from Jegs. The gloss black really looks good and it keeps its shine. I've painted all my suspension pieces with it and after years of use it still shines like new powder coat.

I would just rattle can it. Easier to touch up that way. I'm going Smoke Grey on mine this go around. Cage, chassis, underhood, bottom side of car, etc... Just tired of black and the grey actually throws the light around while you're in there working...

x2 we use two part epoxy on everything at work it is very tuff for sure and holds it shine good, you can also get it at your local house paint store and it can be mixed to the color you want we use Sherwin Williams is sprays good to.

There is a sherwin williams store near my work. I found the roll bar paint local so they are looking like my best options.

I like the Rustoleum Hammertone paints. Looks real nice on suspension pieces, rear ends, and engine compartments.
