Re: who runs moser axles?
I have 33 spline moser's in the fox I wrecked.Never a problem. It ran high teen 60 foots. If I could have found a way to beat on them harder I would have. The 98 I bought has 35 spline moser's in it.

Re: who runs moser axles?
Which ones did you go with Lee? I'm running an aluminum Yukon center with 10 bolt pinion and through bolted mains, and Moser 40 spline's that are solid. The gun drilled stuff wasn't needed for what I do, and the extra strength is good with the big ole shoes on the back of the truck. They are almost as big as the stuff in the rear end of the Peterbilt.

Re: who runs moser axles?
i thought about 35's but after you pay for all the "tricks"that came with the best 40's it was little difference in price so i got 40's.i dont need them now but i may someday when i grow up and use the hose i got the bolt through case with a 4.29 gear.schmitty wrote:Which ones did you go with Lee? Always better to have more than enough, and that is going to be something to hold up to anything you throw at it. I was the same way when I did mine, it was only like a couple hun to upgrade to the 40's over the 35's.

We ran 40 spline Moser stuff in our Pro 5.0 car, 815",1750hp, 5 speed Liberty deal, .970 60', never had an issue...I believe they will take it!

Moser once told me the 35 spline solid was the same weight as a 40 spline gun drilled. The 40 spline gun drilled would be stronger of course, but if the 35 solid is strong enough.....put the extra chunk of change elsewhere in the car.
good way to tell how big of an axle you need:

This is what I am running too............ So far so good, but I'm not in the hero stage yet either.

My only regret is not having them drilled for 5/8" studs.
I intend on upgrading to 5/8" studs myself.
Re: who runs moser axles?
I bought my 40 spline Mosers in 1999 to replace a broken Strange 35 spline that was 11 years old (broke at the bearing radius). The Moser 40s were much larger at the bearing radius and I liked that. I still remove the bearings and magnaflux the bearing seats every 4 or 5 years. I see zero evidence of twisting, just a little normal spline wear.
