steel 4340 4.75 cranks
I have a friend that runs k1 crankshafts and connecting rods aka weisco piston sister company ...im trying to talk him into making a 4.75 crank how many would be interested and would they sell? They make them for the BBC so why not us ..let me know your thoughts
Re: steel 4340 4.75 cranks
What do the bbc cranks sell for? How much for the ford version? How reliable would one be in an a460 block? 7k rpm and 1100hp.

I'd asume that one would do a forging that'd do 4.750" and 4.500" and maybe the 4.300" too.......more volume.
If they could do a crank ~ for the BBC price it'd sell.
Re: steel 4340 4.75 cranks
Nice Bruno ok lem ill pass the info I know the Bbc stuff works great and sells good so ive been trying to get him to do this to help out the bbf community

isn't it funny how the prices are so different.... I was looking around and found a New set of BBC pistons 4.600 bore for $537.00 and the same piston for the ford was $1200.00 the only difference was valve placement........

AZ the funny thing is they both have the exact same bore, exact same pin height, same pin dia, just different valve placement and one is for Chevy and the one is ford and the Chevy is less than half the Cost oh and the piston company owner is a member here on the board, you tell me he isn't jabbing one up our Butts......

Nothing cuter than a stripper on a pogo stick wearing cowboy boots and juggling cue balls.richter69 wrote:Coug aint scared..........

it is what it is, I like Probes and have run many sets but I guess it I want one I will just buy a set of BBC pistons and re notch the valves and massage to fit my heads...that way I can keep away from that Custom deal....and Before any of you say I am hating BS I ran a set in my last BBF and have 3 sets for small blocks on the shelf, all probes....
