Need a roller lifter and rocker recommendation
I'm looking to replace my roller lifters and rockers as they are pretty old. The car is an 89 mustang. The engine is a 12:1 521 with out of the box P-51's. The cam is a Comp with .742, .745 and 255, 264 @.050. The engine also sees a lot of street driving at lower rpm so oiling to the axle is a concern. I usually shift around 7000-7200.

If you are running the OE .874" diameter lifter you have several great choices.
I have had good results with Crower lifters. They offer oiling options as well as the needle-less Enduramax design. You may want to call them and discuss your application.

I have had no issues at all with my Crower lifters. My comp cam is similar in lift but I have more duration. The T&D shaft mount rockers have been awesome so far also. I have checked my valve lash several times over the last year and they just don't come out of adjustment. I also have P51s.

I have used crane, comps, Lunati, and Crowers I like the crowers better for the oil grove neck is beefier than the others and under some instances I have seen some tweaking on the necks, not that noticeable but some for sure....

Just curious but how many miles would you say you have on your lifters? I'm wondering about rollers for street use. Thanks!

They probably have 700-800 street miles on them. There isn't anything "wrong" with them they're just old and technoligy has gotten better so I thought I'd upgrade while I had the engine apart this go round.

As Keith said, there are several good choices. I have 3 seasons on the Isky Redzone's, and all is well, this isn't a street application though. Have been using the Crower Stainless rockers for about 10 seasons with no issues as well.

The Crower SS rockers are about the best non shaft rockers money can buy. You can put them in the will for your kids.
Comp Elite lifters are darn good stuff, but they aren't cheap.

Howard's rockers here... not sure how their strength compares to others. They appear to be a quality piece. I haven't had any problems with them.... But they sure look cool (purple anodized)
