Experience with engine builders?
Hi guys,
I dont know if his is the right place to make this post but if not please just move it.
I'm living in Germany and ordering many parts for my 521 build. An engine builder contacted me and seems to be very friendly and seems to know what he's talking about. But before I order from him I wanted to ask if someone has/had any positive or negative experience with him. He's called mikesspeedparts or performancemodifications and his shop is in Gastonia North Carolina.
Thanks in advance

Re: Experience with engine builders?
Are you having parts shipped to you? Or are you having a completed engine shipped to you?

Then you don't need an engine builder ...

Then you need to contact Lem Evans on here or some of the other fine folks who frequent this forum. You don't need to give your business to some guy who is contacting you. That would be a red flag for me. That is unless you have contacted him first and actually know him...

Re: Experience with engine builders?
I wanted to use an engine builder to make sure all the parts fit together because this is my first build.
I'm pretty sure about some parts but things like the cam are not easy if you don't have so much experience with that engines.
Lem Evans just got contacted, let's see what he's saying
Thanks for your quick answers

Hello there Ashburner. I would definetly recomend you to contact Lem or Randy for parts. I live in Sweden and Lem Evans is suplying me with the parts i need. I know of people in Finland that have done buissnes with Randy Malik without complaits. Best of all Lem and Randy has ben playing around with 460 Fords since the sun started to shine

You can be at ease knowing that you are in good hands w/your engine. I know both Lem and Randy Malik personally and they are both BBF guru's so you WILL get the right parts if the info that YOU supply is correct. "I just sounded like a ALLSTATE commersial right there".

Welcome Ashburner, I'm new to this also (not to FORDS but to engine building). Finished my first motor last year about four years from when I started, including a few steps backwards. I'll just say I started with the 'wrong' engine parts and tried to build my engine around them . Take it from me, listen to these guys and do as they say, they are more than willing to help you.
You now belong to the best 'no bull$hit' most knowledgeable forum there is .

Terry,
there certainly is a big difference between a little kibitzing and giving false information.
It is unfortunate that BS is the initials for bull----.
