Edelbrock Head 557 Testing
Did some testing over the weekend of my 557 powered '79 Mustang. We still have some tuning issues to iron out but overall I'm very pleased. We made 4 passes, 2 off the footbrake and 2 off the transbrake. Footbrake passes were a little rough due to some front end issues, but transbrake passes were solid and consistent. Best was 9.350 @ 147 (other tb pass was 9.357 @ 146).
Motor is a 557, thoroughly ported Edelbrock CJ heads (bought from Bruno), solid roller cam from Lem, Victor intake and 4150 carb. PG trans. Car is mintubbed ladder bar setup running 31x10.5W.

Powerglide 1.80 planetary. Rear is a 9" 4.11 gear. No idea on the stall.
