Just remember, a bad day at the race track is better than a good day at work. Unless you tore something up and will have to work for the next six months to pay for it.

I guess we better let him cool down a bit...I'm sure he'll share eventually. I know I don't feel like typing after a sh*##y day.

Re: @ Reynolds Today
I don't think we grenaded anything...
But we did cause a 45 minute stoppage, when the dipstick tube decided to come out of the transmission case, while making a pass..
Lets put it this way, nothing from the transmission back will ever rust.
hmmm, 7 hours of driving, 45 gallons of diesel for 1 crappy pass........

It is...BUT, the clamp goes around the tube, where, as it did today, it can slide up and out of the case...
This is the first time it did it in 6 years

Re: @ Reynolds Today
I wind mine with stainless safety wire, ala aircraft fasteners, tied down to a pan bolt. No bracket.

BTW, I split a trans cooler line once at St. Pete. Didn't notice any issues during the pass so I oiled the whole g.d. track. It makes ya pretty popular in the pits, doesn't it !?!?
