Big scoop
Not sure how it would look, but I like it now that it's here.

With A head new style intake, top of intake was only about 4.5" to the hood without carb or carb spacer.
Re: Big scoop
I'd just do a small bulge / cowl rework in the existing hood, it will more stylish IMO.

Re: Big scoop
If he needs the clearance and pans the scoop I think it will work great and look just fine.

scoop
I'm very pleased the scoop. It is a nicely finished piece. It doesn't look quite as big in person part of it is the black scoop over primer with a guide coat on it.I do need the space the body is pretty low on the chassis.rumor has it there may be some type of a fairly thick plate under the domy?? I've not been pleased with the result when the clearence over the top of a dominator is low.My new engine should be pulling on it pretty hard.
My main goal here is to have a scoop bigger than Blakes.

You may have him covered on the bigger scoop, but how close will you be on the e.t.'s?

As Dave said this is a scoop that Travis designed, and had a company produce them. Travis sent me a website where you can get them, but I'm at work and the link is at home. I don't remember if the dimensions were on the website or not, I will check when I get home.
Travis had posted the mock up of this scoop when he was designing it, but I don't remember if it was this forum or the other one.
I believe the top of it is the same as the original ones, only taller and a little wide at the base.

Re: Big scoop
I went 5.40's and high 30's with a stock block 533CI First gen cj's, stock susp fox body at 3100 lbs. With Blakes help. The fox body was built for old ORSCA 6.0 rules. This one should do quite a bit better. This one is only limited by my funds. The only rules it has is to please me.I've built all kind of stuff to all kind of rules, sincr this will prob. be the last racecar I build I thought it would be fn to build it the way I want.
It's not Blake I'm shooting for. This is mainly a grudge car.

I knew you weren't trying to beat him or anything like that. Ol snake would be tickled to death to see you go faster. That's one thing that makes this sport fun. People helpin others achieve a goal.

These are new Fiberglass Boss 9 scoops that have a bolt on flange as shown in the link below. The only contribution I have in these is that I made the prototype for the new fiberglass mold and had one made for my own personal use. These are really nice pieces and the quality is second to none. Please contact Bob @ Class Glass Performance to order one and mention my name (Travis Rice). Price is $175 + Shipping

Re: Big scoop
These are neat pieces , but ............everyone has thier own taste and I am sure not everyone will like them. I needed something to cover a tunnel ram with dominators and something easy to make an air pan work with and thats the reason for having the mold made. There are other companies producing X-large Boss9 scoops but they are narrower and shorter in length and in my opinion they look more like a grump lump. This is an extended original Boss9 design, so as it got taller it had to get wider to stay proportinate to the orignal. It has the same slope on the top, same slope on the sides, and same slope front and rear. So far about a dozen are out there and everyone who has given any feedback has said the quality is first class.
Glad your happy with it Ward.

Re: Big scoop
They beat me to the measurments,I just got in from the shop.It is a nice piece almost ready to paint right out of the box.If you like it I would rec. these guys and would order from them again in a heart beat. There may be more induction for mine in the near future so the size is just what I wanted.

Re: Big scoop
Got some paint on it and back together for the most part. Car is shaping up really well. Hopefully Engine Systems is coming along with the power.
We need a name for this one. The Fox body was the "Pokey Pony". This one....hmmmmm..... bright white....+Mr Frosty = ? Deep Freeze? lol
