NEW 598 C HEAD MONSTER
Flashed up my new C headed 598 today. First time. Big thanks to Charlie Evans for the beautiful head and manifold work. Lem kicked in with a new A460 block, custom cam, lifters and Danny Bee. My machine shop guy at High Performance Engines in Vancouver BC did up the block and made everything fit. This thing has 14.5 to one, and cranks over like it has no compression. Revs like a small block, idles lower, runs cooler and pushes the converter about 500 rpm higher than the old 572 A head we ran last year.
Cant wait to get it to the track.
dkp
Helpful hint. Copper coat plugs up a 5 micron oberg filter screen. Just sayin.

Dean,
You still going to run S/G, or are you leaning towards a different class?

Re: NEW 598 C HEAD MONSTER
Still planning on running Super Gas with NHRA but this gives me lots of options.
Doorslammer, Top Sportsman, etc.
Should be fun.

Re: NEW 598 C HEAD MONSTER
Make sure it has a FULL race cam installed brfore making a FULL pass. If you are running 1/8 mi. 3/4 cam will be sufficient. Have fun and good luck brother.

Re: NEW 598 C HEAD MONSTER
You'll love it Dean ! I wish we would have came out with our 600 instead of our untried 712 at mission , 7.30-40's @ 190's mph would have been better that what the 712 ran

Dean,
Spare valve springs went out of here on the 17th. They should be at Peace Portal now.
