Dive 460 block
I am looking at buying a 72 model 460 , to build for my 64 f-100 prostreet. Project . I know the 72 heads suck , but what about the block rods crank etc ? What's the deck height on this block compared to others ? Are the valves in the d2ve heads the same as the d3ve ?

Re: Dive 460 block
Block, rods, crank are all as good any other put in a regular passenger car. What you intend to do with it will dictate how much of all that is usable. Deck height should be ~10.322". Early blocks were ~10.300" - 10.310". If it is a performance build you will want to get the deck squared and the height set based on what pistons you use and what piston to head clearance you want anyway.
