Guy's, have any of you running alky ever noticed white looking gritty particles in your fuel bowls & needle/seat or injectors? If so what is it or causes it?

Running alky without a top lube...and leaving it unattended in the fuel system will cause this to happen. As far as I can determine, it is oxidized particles left behind after the alky has dried up.
I don't run alky through carbs, but if I did, I would use a good top lube in the fuel and empty the bowls and either run it on gas, or use a protective light oil spray (WD40 - CRC- Howes - Marvel...ect) through the bowl vents between races.
The white residue is normally seen in systems (carb and injected) after the alky has dried.
Hope this helps...

Plus...
I have seen Holley bowls actually disintegrate....the plating flaked off the die cast parts....when alky has been left in there for a few weeks and dried up...

Yea,I bet that's it Keith. It wasn't disturbing the bowl surface yet but sounds like the culprit. Nothing was in the filter in the front or back. Thx guy's

always get the carb wet.........hit the fuel pump every week or so. If your gonna let it dry out I always took the bowls off, blew everything out real good and gave it all a good squirt of wd40 and put the carb back together.

damn sure don't let M5 dry out......

After I shut mine down I let it run out of alky pump the excel pumps to get all the alky out of them. Then I fire off to burn the alky out of the cylinders then fill the bowls thro the vents with marval mistery oil before letting it sit. It will fire right up off the oil it will smoke a little but clears out as soon as it is out of the carb. I did notice that the carb even after running alky then pulling the carb open it still had traces of the marval oil inside the carb but eberything ealse like like new.
