little info from you guys please
A friend of mine that's into horse's wants to buy this monster trailer 13,000lbs empty! Add four horses and we are talking about 24,200lbs. What truck should she buy F550 (which would be right at the limit) or F650 up??
Her trailer

this is what i found but I'm looking for real world info from somebody who's been there and done that.

How far are the trips she is going on? My 48' enclosed trailer weighs about that much and my F350 pulls it just fine. A neighbor that hauls bulls all over the US uses an F550 to pull his trailer and it handles his 32' trailer just fine with 8 bulls that weigh almost 2k#/ bull.

Re: little info from you guys please
I just made a mistake, the horse's are 900lbs not 2800...lol! They not mustangs (race cars)
Man that was funny, 2800lb horse's could do some damage!

I would think that any good F350 or 450 would handle that kind of load easily

Re: little info from you guys please
Will the weight of the truck, trailer and horses be more than the GVWR for an F350?

0. But you can tow 30-40 cats.
Re: little info from you guys please
Look at the Advertising banner at the top above the Trailer specs. They have a F350 dually hooked to it.

Re: little info from you guys please
I would recommend the F450 p/u not the cab n chassis. its a 400 horser.comes with the 4.10 or 4.30 the one that's a rebadged f350. run the motorcraft 15/40,bring plenty of def, pack some spare exhaust valves and a high press pump to be on the safe side.
