alky guys need info
Alky guys I need to pic yalls brain and teach me about it... I just picked up a rons flying toilet with a dommy flange.
Can this be converted to gas?
What is the up keep on the alky combo?
Will it respond to a pump gas Compression combo?
How to tune with alky?
Basically I need to learn everything about it I dont plan on making the switch this year but anything could happen.....please teach me and supply all info your willing to share. Thanks, MP

You Can run gas but learning with alky would be much better. Do all the reading you can on the subject first. upkeep is easy also and the best advice i can give you i got from here. KY jelly said dont start it just to hear it run every day! best way to avoid milking the oil is keep the barrel valve lean as possible, always heat it up to at least 180* when you start it and kill it with the fuel shut off cable.

I run a primer plus under my alky carb for firing it up and moving it around you can run it under the tolit also. That way you don't have to wait to get the engine up to temp before shutting it down plus I warm my engine with it also.

You can find lots of good info at KillerRONS.com
James has posted several frequently asked questions and topics regarding injection.
I have been running Rons injection for many many years, but never attempted gas.
Some of the basic "musts" include a front mounted fuel tank, or surge tank setup, an EGT monitor gauge and if on alky, a primer system.
Call any time if you want to talk Toilets. You can see pictures of my Triple Toilet combo on my web site.

Re: alky guys need info
Ok I been looking into belt drive pumps so..... I'm not making 1000+ HP right now can I get a pump that I can use as I grow in power?
(Also I'm going to stay with meth) as i have been told to do. Do my injector nozzles need to be low or high on my intake runners my nitrous nozzles are low do they need to be above my injection or what?
I'm going to pick up another intake to start pluming stuff while I gather other parts for this deal I'm just getting a heads up on where stuff needs to be thanks

Pump size...
A 0-1/2 pump will get you to 1000 hp.
Over 1000, you will need a #1.
If the pump is too big, you simply put a high speed bypass on it to dump the extra volume.
I have successfully used a #1 on 800 through 1200 HP.
The Rons black pump is pretty well bullet proof, if you use Manhattsn Oil top lube.
KillerRONS gives you nozzle placement info, but put them relatively close to the intake flange. If you use a Trick Flow tunnel ram, right above the nitrous boss.

Thanks Keith I was looking at the black pumps and i found the HP rating on them so I think I will start looking for a #1 pump.
Is there anything I need to watch for buying a used pump?
The web site you sent me too has some great info its just a lot to take in ....lol

They will run on gas . You have to get smaller nozzles and the biggest issue i got into was you have to run the barrel valve richer than what is an ideal idle tune on gas to keep from having a dead spot when you flat foot it . Its not that hard to tune it in , but if you are running Q16 its gets expensive real quick idling up to the staging lanes with a rich idle lol.

Re: alky guys need info
Just wanted to add something about the pumps. With a Ron's black gear style pump you can take a 0 1/2 pump and have it easily converted to a #1 and vice versa. I had my 0 1/2 upgraded to a 1 for my current combo.
For a beginner learning curve I would be more apt to use a 0 1/2 to start as long as you are under 1000 hp. Then you don't have to run a high speed bypass. Just one variable to remove until you get a handle on the tune. When you move up in power you can have the pump upgraded to the larger size and add a high speed bypass.

Thanks Dave that is good to know I need everything as simple as can be for a beginner on this.
Ky...I don't think I have the experience to try for pump gas right now I'm just going to try and keep it simple so I can learn it better
