Re: valve height?
A factory assembled D0VE head with OEM valve train normally has a 1.82" installed valve spring height. The OEM D0VE intake and exhaust valves have 0.350" & 0.400" tip lengths (+/).
You asked about upgrading the D0VE heads to accomodate a roller cam that has about 0.650" lift at the valve, and such a set up would typically use a 1.900" installed valve spring height. The common fix under these circumstances is to simply use SCJ valves which are the same overall length as the OEM D0VE valves but have 0.250" tip lengths.
Paul
P.S.: There will be other necesssary machining and setup of the heads in order to accomodate the overall roller cam valve train setup.

Re: valve height?
I think he is saying to get the Ford Racing SCJ valves, (2.200"), with the .250" tip lengths.capncruncher1965 wrote:SO WHAT YOU ARE SAYING IS get the stock scj valves and they should be the right height?
The 2.250" diameter SCJ valves are no longer available from FRPP. Lem Evans had a bunch of 'em and probably still has some.
OR, get others with those same dimensions.
THANKS GUYS
will GET UP WITH LEM thanks again guys
