Re: DAMPER to use
use what ever balancer makes you warm and fuzzy inside.... as for Balance internal, external it don't make a hill of beans which just make sure it is ballanced, I have run both and didn't see any difference my external engine ran 8800 rpm many times if it was a big deal I think it would have shown up then.......

if I had to buy another one I would give this a shot..............in the meantime my ATI has served me well for over 14 years............and I just had it rebuilt and recertified a few years back for like 65 bucks.

Re: DAMPER to use
For a race car I like ATI's stuff, I've used a number of them over the years and they have served me well.
I do have a TCI damper (not the rattler) on the Boss 429 EMC motor, seemed to have done its job. didn't notice any thing wierd on 3 teardowns.
I like the inovators west stuff, but haven't used one yet.

I have a Ford motor sport balancer on mine, the only thing I hate about it, is that it is shiny and glares when you put a timing light on it kind of like pointing your timing light in a mirror......

I don't like that chrome nonsense either. Usually just fix it with black Moroso timing tape.
