Lexan windows
I need to drop some weight for an upcoming class I am going to run. Anybody have any suggestions to a good lexan glass replacement kit for the sn95 mustang?

or buy a sheet and make your own.
honestly the glass in a fox is thin andyway, I dont think you'll drop enough to make the swap worth it. Now safety wise lexan is worth it imo.

Re: Lexan windows
Not a fox. '97. Fairly long front and rear. Dont expect much out of the door windows and the quarters. Gotta find the reduction somewhere.

Re: Lexan windows
Lexan the widows and gut the doors and door panels...Don't know about you but most of us could shed 20 - 30 lbs of Fluffy Butt.

I went that route w/Maverick.never again. Doors.fenders, all windows, only lost #100. Not worth it imo.

Re: Lexan windows
^^^^ and thats on an older car.
every little bit helps and in the event of a crash Id rather not have to deal with the glass going everywhere.
lexan makes it a pita to winch the car in and not be able to steer it as i go.....

Re: Lexan windows
Maybe you're right. The extra weight may come in handy in the spring when the side drafts at the local track are 30-50 mph.

Hood and deck lid? Wiper motors? Seats and carpet? Window regulators?

Re: Lexan windows
If it was me, I'd gut the doors regardless...but then, I'll do almost anything to shed weight in a racecar. I saw your car, Shannon, but I didn't notice if the bumpers were gutted.

Re: Lexan windows
Lexan windows, gut the doors completely and put either a carpet or aluminum panel back on, glass deck lid
Your there on your goal weight reduction. No problem.
If it has factory carpet and insulation in it that is about a 12-14lb loss even adding back a speaker type carpet. Gut the dash to the limit
Look for stuff here and there that can go
